The ideal candidate is comfortable contributing from Schematic Design through Design Development, Construction Documentation, permit/tender coordination, and Construction Administration.
This role is for someone who wants to be trusted, challenged, and given the opportunity to build well-rounded project experience in support of long-term professional growth.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Architectural and interior design development

- Managing project tasks, priorities, and deliverables independently
- Maintaining design quality, technical accuracy, and clear communication
The ideal candidate has:

- Experience with drawing packages from SD through DD and CD
- Sound judgment and practical construction understanding
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work with minimal oversight
- A disciplined, detail-oriented approach to documentation and coordination
- A proactive attitude and accountability for project outcomes
- Access to a personal vehicle for site visits is an asset

Design With Purpose
Help create and renew facilities for sport, recreation, education, housing and public service. Bring practical design thinking to places that communities depend on.
Broad Project Experience
From Ideas to Built Work
Contribute across design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination and construction administration. Understand how decisions move from an idea to a completed building.
Professional Growth
Learn Through Practice
Develop your judgement through real project challenges, shared knowledge and collaboration. Learn how design intent, code requirements and construction details come together in public-sector architecture.
Responsibility With Support
Trusted to Take Ownership
Take ownership of tasks and deliverables within a team that values accuracy, initiative and accountability. Work with direct principal oversight and contribute to clear, coordinated project decisions.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We Choose to Include
CNA’s success depends on talented people with different skills, backgrounds and perspectives. We value the ideas each person brings to our work and strive to create a workplace where everyone feels welcome, appreciated and heard.
Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion shapes how we collaborate, share knowledge and support professional growth. We aim to give our team meaningful opportunities, training and support to develop their skills, contribute with confidence and pursue their career goals.
Sustainability
Environment and Community
At CNA, environmental responsibility and community value are part of how we approach architecture. We help public-sector clients pursue sustainable design, low-carbon strategies and net-zero goals through new facilities and the renewal of existing buildings.
Our work connects environmental priorities with practical decisions about materials, energy performance, durability and long-term operation, informed by applicable Toronto Green Standard provisions and Canada Green Building Council (CAGBC) frameworks.
If sustainable architecture interests you, bring that ambition to our Architectural Division or Special Projects Division. Help shape public places that serve their communities and respond to a changing climate.
Community
Giving Back
Our connection to community extends beyond the places we design. At CNA, we believe good corporate citizenship means contributing our time, skills and care to the communities where we live and work.
We encourage a spirit of generosity and welcome opportunities to support local charitable causes, help people in need and strengthen community relationships. Giving back brings our shared sense of purpose into everyday action.
Innovation
On the Cutting Edge
At CNA, innovation starts with a better question. How can a public facility work better, a building renewal deliver greater value, or a design decision reduce environmental impact? We connect design thinking, technical knowledge and practical problem-solving to explore the possibilities.
We welcome opportunities to improve how we design, coordinate and communicate, including digital modelling, visualization and more effective project workflows where they add value. Our in-house team brings perspectives across architecture, engineering, assessments and engagement to the challenges of new and existing buildings.
We encourage our people to share ideas, learn from project experience and challenge familiar approaches thoughtfully. Bring your curiosity and initiative to help turn promising ideas into clear, coordinated architectural solutions.
